Power, lots of power all of the time. It always seems to come down to power. We too often take it for granted that our small kitchen appliances will be powerful enough to do everything that we ask of them. Sadly, this isn’t always true and there are a lot of burned out blenders and food processors in cabinets all over America, of no use to anyone. Power is one of the reasons that we really like the Cuisinart Smart Power Duet Blender. A 500 watt motor powers this blender, large enough to handle just about any blending or food processing project that you might attempt.
Blenders and food processors are asked to chop, grind and puree a lot of dense items. Thick vegetables and fruits are often tossed in with little or no chopping being done. Full trays of ice are dumped in with the expectation that crushed ice will be the result. That will only happen if the motor is strong enough to handle the task, and this unit is up to that challenge. There is also a built-in overload protection, meaning that you can’t burn out this motor, no matter how hard you try.
Well Built And Sturdy
Another issue with some blenders and food processors is how durable the housing is. Flimsy plastic won’t last long, especially if you use your blender a lot. Cuisinart has used a sturdy metal housing to make sure that your unit will last a long time. The 48 ounce blending jar is made from heavy glass and has a useful pour lid. both pieces go right into the dishwasher, making clean up a snap.

Yes, if you are looking for a well made, well priced combination blender/food processor. Cuisinart has a well earned reputation for quality kitchen appliances and this unit is no exception. There are some downsides. The 3 cup food processor is small, you may be frustrated by the limited capacity. While the motor is powerful it is also loud, you will notice the noise when you use the food processor. Overall, this is a very good appliance to have in your kitchen.
